Codex diplomaticus aevi Saxonici, [ca. 1840].

Manuscript, in primarily one hand, of a collection of notes, tipped in, intended for the seventh volume of the Codex Diplomaticus Aevi Saxoni. The notes include lists of the names and dates of Anglo-Saxon bishops; extracts from manuscript charters in Latin and Anglo-Saxon; genealogies; and extracts from historical works, including Roger Twysden's Historiae anglicanae scriptores decem and Symeon of Durham's Historia dunelmensis ecclesiae. Also includes financial accounts for various volumes of the Codex Diplomaticus, including the costs of collation, trasncripts of charters, indexing, alphabetizing, postage, and stationery. A note states that "These Charters are to be inserted in any new Edn. of Cod. Diplom. according to the lists enclosed. Or they might form a VIIth volume together with Fasti, &c., &c., &c.," followed by the list.
